A new opportunity for writers with pieces of work about Woking! Local writer Mal Foster has launched a blog called Writers at the Gate to help promote the books of independently published authors who are local to Woking and the surrounding area. Mal said: “It now includes a page (It’s a Woking Thing!) to showcase smaller pieces of work such as prose and poetry. This may evolve into a regular online newsletter/magazine. It is Intended as a platform to help local writers engage with each other both online and in-person including future social and signing events, and to complement any other local writers’ resources that may also exist locally, i.e. Woking Writers Circle for example.”

The first item to be featured on the new page is a poem by WWC member Greg Freeman, titled ‘Made in Surrey’. Prose and poetry submissions for It’s a Woking Thing! should be sent to admin@malfoster.co.uk
